Hair relaxer what is the difference between one that says no-lye and regular, also can it be used on?
previously colored hair? The one I'm thinking of buying is made for afro type hair. It's for my daughter (hispanic) her hair is naturally curly like Julia Roberts. Does that make a difference? Thanks for the help.Hair relaxer what is the difference between one that says no-lye and regular, also can it be used on?
Go with ';No-Lye';, if you are really bent on using the stuff. Lye, or Sodium Hydroxide, is in essence, drain cleaner.
However, you may want to reconsider having her hair ';relaxed';, once it's done, it's done. Also, ';No-Lye'; can still be rather harsh, and can still cause hair loss and the like if it is not done right! It especially important if your daughter is rather young still.
In any case, the links below should help you make an informed choice.Hair relaxer what is the difference between one that says no-lye and regular, also can it be used on?
lye is the ingredient that was used in the first relaxers but it can be too strong for most hair types. regular usually refers to no lye. i dont think you should use either. you should take her to a professional where they can give her a relxer for virgin hair that has never been processed

I did the japanese hair relaxer and I regret it?
I did the japanese relaxer two years ago. My hair is horrible now. The hair that grows out is super curly and the other half is super straight.I did the Brazilian hair relaxer twice and It didn't work at all . I spent a lot of money for all of these treatments. I want my hair to be curly again . Please tell me what I can do to make this happen . I don't wish to cut my hair . Thank you for your time,

Awww. I'm so sorry. I know what you are going through. My daughter as well as myself both have naturally curly hair. I straightened my daughter's hair with the Japanese relaxer also and the contrast when it grew out was awful. You will have no choice but to relax it again or cut it.
It's just hair honey. I know you don't want to, but you should cut it.I did the japanese hair relaxer and I regret it?
leave your hair alone
your gonna damage it more than it already is
try using some mouse
and scrunching the bottom section of your hair
to get some curls
or use rollers or a curling iron but if i were you
id stay away from heat and chemicals for a while
and do some serious deep conditioning
for years relaxers have damaged hair beyond repair...
i have no idea why people still use that garbage..simple as that...
do no use relaxers!
cut your hair... there's no other way to go about that... it's going to take forever to get your hair back to it's natural texture.
Other than a culring iron any further processing on your hair will make it fry badly.

Does anyone know of a good and healthy hair relaxer for woman of color?
affirm fiberguard is suppose to be good, but you have to buy the whole system to get the full effect. I prefer Mizani, and some think Phytospecific is a healthy system, but its pricey $60 for one kit and at the salon they'll charge $80+ for that brand.Does anyone know of a good and healthy hair relaxer for woman of color?

Would a hair relaxer get rid of curls on guys?
there are curls at the end of my hair on the sides, and they look like crap. My hair goes down to the end of my earsWould a hair relaxer get rid of curls on guys?
Yes it would, but , you would have to make sure that each time you do your roots you do not over lap the product, because it will cause your hair to break. relaxers are very strong chemicals used on the hairWould a hair relaxer get rid of curls on guys?
the best thing you could do is straighten your hair.
and yes i'm being serious.
it's that or cut it your choice.
Maybe you just need a haircut.
