I have tried this and another brand of childrens relaxer for my daughter. I have left them in for longer than recommended as well as the recommended time. The hair is still wavy in the middle and the overall effect only lasts for about a week. Should I use an adult relaxer on her and if so, what kind. Or am I doing something wrong with the childrens one? Thanks in advance.Just for me hair relaxer for 9 year old doesnt work?
I'm not an advocate of relaxing children's hair. Believe it or not, children's relaxers are worse than regular relaxers. Part of the problem is the timing. If it's inaccurate on the packaging, then parents are more likely to leave it on too long.
If you must relax your daughter's hair, I would recommend waiting 6 weeks before you try to relax it again. After 6 weeks, go to a professional. If that is not an option for you, try the mild formula of a relaxer that is already mixed (the kind sold in the tubs.) Mizani, Affirm and Elasta QP are good. Make sure to buy the recommended neutralizing shampoo and moisturizing conditioner. The directions on the tub will tell which ones to buy. In the menatime, please give your daughter a hot oil treatment one week and a deep conditioning treatment the next to minimize damage. Also, make sure she's wearing a het when she goes outside. Cold weather can also damage the hair.
Hope this helps.Just for me hair relaxer for 9 year old doesnt work?
u can try pcj its a children's one or you can try an olive oil one.they work really good!!
Go ahead and try an adult regular relaxer about 3 to 4 weeks after your daughters last relaxer. Follow directions exactly and only apply to new growth. Try to remember that relaxers may not make the hair bone straight all the time so have a good hot comb or flat iron. A good relaxer to use would be luster's pink relaxer for regular hair. Another good idea would be to take your daughter to a hair salon for initial relaxer and do the touch ups at home.
